A Guide To Choosing Camp Cooking Gear

I find just like the kitchen at home there are so many pieces of Camping Cooking Gear out there that it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Really it depends on two major things, your cooking style and your personal preference. Cooking style is largely determined by what you like to eat and hence therefore like to cook. Whereas personal preference is things like do you seek portability over functionality. So in this article, I’ll describe some of the reasons for choosing certain pieces of Cooking Gear out there at camp over others. I will also discuss some of my personal preferences and reasons behind the Cooking Gear I choose to use and why.

Let’s kick things off with a good old Portable BBQ. I must admit I’m not much of a cook so for me a Portable BBQ is a must have. Working just like your BBQ at home only on a small compact level, a Portable BBQ is perfect for a meat lover like me, that could eat steak for dinner every night.

However, for you gourmet meat lovers out there looking to step it up a notch, a Portable Smoker will be right up your alley. Unlike a traditional cooker a Travel Smoker BBQ is a teared design that uses the beneficial properties of smoke to both add flavour and also tenderise the meat.

A Portable Fire Pit with the addition of a Grill Plate is a great piece of Camping Cooking Gear. Although it’s perfectly capable to cook up a meal on its own a Foldable Fire Pit works wonders as a cooking accessory. Either chuck your meat straight on the Grill Plate or use the many benefits of a cast iron pan to evenly cook your food. You can be cooking a pasta dish on the portable BBQ whilst simultaneously sizzling your meat on the Folding Fire Pits Grill Plate. So, if you want to stick to the basics and cook some meat the old fashioned way, then you can’t go passed a Portable Fire Pit with the addition of a Grill Plate.

To really boost up your camp fire cooking a Stainless Steel Charcoal Starter is the way to go. My favourite parts about a Stainless Steel Charcoal Starter are firstly, they’re super portable due to the light weight stainless steel design plus the fact they fold flat once not in use. Secondly they help drastically reduce your cooking time, so this is perfect for when I come back starving after a big days adventure. A Stainless Steel Charcoal Starter is like a mini fire pit specially designed to heat your fire beads. Due to the shape and ventilation of the design a Folding Charcoal Starter acts like a turbo fire pit that quickly heats up your heat beads. This then creates red hot coals ready to be placed into your main fire pit. Once you’ve done that you now have a piping hot fire ready to sizzle up a delicious camp meal.

If you’re chasing the sensation of cooking over the roar fire but are forever battling fire restriction at camp, then a Camp Oven Stove might just be your saving grace. Constructed from heavy duty steel a Quality Campfire Stove can handle both extreme heat and the rough and tumble of travel. When using heat beads a Camp Oven Stove is usually allowed in areas that have a camp fire ban. That’s because with the featured chimney a Portable Camp Oven Stove has the ability to be fully shut up and thus creates a fully self contained fire. However, if you’re not at a campsite with a fire ban a Travel Camp Oven Stove also features the ability to be opened up. Either by the convenient door or some models do in fact feature a roof latch. On the other hand others offer a completely removable lid.  That’s why I love my Quality Campfire Stove, as it can be used as a piece of Cooking Gear or once opened up it can also be your camp fire too.  Unlike a traditional fire with an open flame, once closed up you can sit quite close to a Portable Camp Oven Stove. This is great to use as a heat source for those cool winter months.

Now if you want the most juicy piece of lamb you’ve ever tasted a Battery Operated Camping Rotisserie won’t let you down. The fact their battery operated, means you don’t have to worry about the hassle of dangerous cords around the campfire.  A Portable Rotisserie allows for an extremely even cook due to the slow rotation of the meat. One of the major benefits of a Rotisserie is If you season and baste your meat whilst on the Camping Rotisserie it actually allows the meat to be cooked from the inside using steam. A handy tip is to look for a Battery Operated Camping Rotisserie that is height adjustable. That way you can control the heat by simply adjusting the Hight rather then having to mess around with your campfire.  My other piece of advice is in my opinion a must have, your Campfire Rotisserie needs to feature a decent weight rating anything above 7k5 will do the trick. That way it will be able to support that thick juicy slab of lamb you picked up from the butcher. Lastly look for a Travel Rotisserie that once packed away can be compact enough for easy transport. A travel case is super handy to have to increase portability. But it also keeps the grime from your, Battery Operated Camping Rotisserie getting on your other camping gear, in the back of your vehicle.

This article has just been a select few of the pieces of Cooking Gear I like to bring to camp. I hope you’ve found this post helpfull, so you can now better decide for yourself which pieces of Camp Cooking Gear best suit your personal preference and cooking style.
