Adventure Kings – Leading the charge, for affordable solar!

There are many makes and manufacturers offering portable camping solar panels that use gimmicks claiming everything from pocket sized solar power to systems that are not practical, to large systems that roll up into an inconvenient and delicate roll, that you will surely crush when packing gear around it.

As opposed to trying to tackle developments in the cutting edge of Photovoltaic technology, the Adventure Kings range has tried to squeeze more effiency out of already existing technology whilst also reducing the price-tag to keep the cost of Campsite solar power.

The range of Adventure Kings solar technology shares some common threads so we will go over some of these key features to ensure you understand the extreme value on offer with campsite solar panels from Adventure Kings and 4WD Supacentre.

MONO-CRYSTALLINE

Mono-crystalline technology is found on the whole range of Adventure Kings Camping Solar, its enhanced efficiency when compared with poly-crystalline makes it the prime choice for affordable portable solar panels. Mono-crystalline panels are made with a uniform crystal structure that has enhanced ability to absorb solar radiation.

Monocrystalline panels can be easily identified by their dark and uniform colour, whilst the inferior polycrystalline panels have irregular polygonal shapes of contrasting hues of blue.

Voltage Regulators.

There are 2 main types of voltage regulator available to the mass market;

The first is the PWM style which stands for pulse width modulation, this varies the width of a pulse of energy to alter the output of your solar panel to suit that of your vehicles battery. PWM regulators are included as standard equipment in the whole range of campsite Solar panels in the Adventure Kings range.

This modern circuitry is a massive improvement compared to the older style of voltage regulator used in the early days of solar energy photovoltaics that used to switch itself off when the voltage reached higher than the battery could absorb, resulting in massive losses.

The next style of solar regulator is called MPPT or Maximum Power Point Tracking, which takes into account the input and output voltages and maximises the potential output based on pre-programmed algorithms. This style of voltage regulator can be up to 30% more efficient than the PWM style in certain conditions such as overcast days. MPPT is the regulator of choice found inside DC-DC chargers like the D250SA by CTEK and can even be purchased as an upgrade for existing solar panels on the 4WD Supacentre website.

Solar Blanket Technology

Whilst the solid folding style panels have made their way into common usage by makes and models all over the country, the newer more compact “solar blanket Technology” found in the Adventure Kings 120W Solar Blanket and the 10W USB Folding solar panel, offer a flexible fabric chassis that allows the monocrystalline panels to be layed out on a hard and flat surface, like a vehicles windshield, the roof of an Awning or even tied to the side of a swag. this setup allows an extremely powerful 120W photovoltaic array to be folded and stashed in the seat pocket on the back of your drivers seat.

Measuring a tiny 40cm x 40cm when folded, it could be mistaken as a CD folder or a photo album, but when unfolded has the ability to catch a massive 1.0295m² of incoming solar energy. Making this solar setup one of the most space efficient on the market.

MASSIVE OUTPUT

Whilst compact size and top level technology have already been covered, it is time to address the huge output from our top of the line solar panel.

The *improved* Adventure Kings 250W camping solar panel offers unparalleled charging output per dollar on the market, you can simply plug this system into your vehicles 12v setup for well over 100 amp hours, worth of charge every day! All for under $300 you can simply set it and forget it, and the included PWM regulator can save you stacks compared to buying one individually.

There is no denying the cost effectiveness of the Adventure Kings Range of camping solar panels to power all of your Campsite power needs no matter where you are set up.
